Maya 2012

The Maya where an people indigenous to the Mexican peninsula, they are most noted for their astronomical calculations,they spent most of their time calculating the movement of the heavenly bodies through space and are recognized by the scientific community as the most accurate calculations known in history.

It is from them that we get the 2012 predictions, the Maya 2012 are responsible for calculating several calendars in witch they lived every aspect of their lives by, they had calendars for every thing, when to plant, when to harvest and when to run.

Maya 2012 is the calculation of their long count calendar witch states that humanity has gone through three different periods of around 5000 years, According to the Maya the gods were displeased with their creation on the last three periods and wiped out that creation each time and started over.

According to the Maya 2012 predictions we are going to reach the end of the fourth period on December 21 2012 and they hint at a great cataclysmic event, yet there is no prophecy by them left to actually say that it is going to be the end of all humanity.

We shouldn’t lose site of the fact that the Maya were a barbaric race and murdered many on the alters of their temples in sacrifice to their gods, when ever thing weren’t going good, such as crops or weather, the Maya would capture enemies and sacrifice them to the god to appease them.

With this in mind it brings the Maya 2012 predictions into question, do we discount everything because of their barbaric ways? I should think not, although we should keep them in mind, unfortunately the Spanish invasion destroyed almost all of their writings, so we are left with only a couple.

The Maya 2012 predictions are interesting and with the earth showing signs of cataclysmic change both upcoming and in the past, we should at the very least prepare for such events, this would be the prudent thing to do, since they are not the only ones who are predicting a major change on December 21 2012 and the years leading up to it.
