Mayan Calendar 2012

The Mayan calendar isn’t anything like the one hanging on your wall, rather its a complex use of a couple of different calendars, the Tzolk and the Haab. the first of witch consists of 260 days, the second 365.

When put together they create cycles of 52 years, this is often referred to as the round calendar. There are even smaller variations, as the Mayan’s use calendar calculations for most every aspect of day to day life.

The calendar that intrigues even the brightest astronomer is the Mayan long count calendar, this one calculates on a linear scale making use of a numerical decimal system to record dates and events. an example of this is the December 21 2012 witch looks more like this 13.0.0.0.0.

This long count is referred to as the great cycle and lasts about 5,125.36 years, the Mayans say that this is the time frame for each cycle and claim we are in the fourth of these.

The precession of equinoxes is another part of this and they are 26,000 years, the 51125.36 being 1/5 of that’s time. according to the Mayan’s on the date December 21 2012 our planet will galacticaly line up with the center of our galaxy, most Mayan prophecies state that there will be a cataclysmic event take place during this time.

Keep in mind we have not been in this location in the galaxy for over 5000 years and have little or no record of what took place last time unless you look at the biblical account of the flood as a possibility, the years leading up to this alignment could be trouble some and we could see more oddities in our sky and even some disturbances on our planet.

This is the base belief among the proponents of the 2012 disaster mind set, Interestingly enough it is becoming more evident that even the world govt are making preparations for any event that take place.

Its only prudent that every house hold at the very least get a disaster survival kit ready long before this date on the Mayan long count calendar, it would be a mistake to focus only on this date of December 21 2012, with realizing that the astronomical state is changing every day as we move closer to this event.
