Will The World End In 2012?
The question of the century lies before us, will the world end in 2012 or will that day come and go in the same manner as y2k, I think the question should be, are we prepared for a cataclysmic event of a monumental size.
Doomsday prophecies are as old as time, the ancient writings from every corner of the planet have some type of prediction that the world is coming to an end, with the exception of the Mayan long count calendar, most do not set a date for the event.
According to the calculations from the Mayan’s the earth has gone through several periods of creation and destruction, each lasting approximately 5125.36 years before being destroyed in a cataclysmic event. They however do not claim that the date of December 21 2012 will result in the same way.
Will the world end in 2012? Its hard to say and even though science gives a lot of weight to the Mayan long count calendar, they refrain from accepting that this date of December 21 2012 will result in any big event, however they do say that at anytime anywhere we could experience an event from within or coming from without.
Survival of any event at anytime should be a priority for every one, Knowledge is the best protection as it enables us to make a coherent decision on our own, as of this writing there is 788 days till December 12 2012, but that shouldn’t leave us with the feeling that we have plenty of time left.
